Your ingogo Partnership

At ingogo, we take a great deal of pride in our partnerships with drivers. Our aim is to help you earn more income and provide an even better service for your passengers.

How can you help?
ingogo’s customers are your passengers and we want them to have the best possible experience when using our service. As an ingogo partner driver, you can help us make this happen by ensuring the following:

    be reliableonly accept an ingogo job if you can complete it;
    be on time – estimate your arrival time realistically – if you’re delayed, contact the passenger to update them;
    be proud of yourself and your car – a courteous driver with a clean and safe car will ensure a positive experience for the passenger;
be proactive – communicate with your passenger using the messaging system within the app or give them a call; and
be consistent – when you accept a job, please call the passenger and say:
“Hi, this is (your name), your ingogo driver. I’m on my way and should be there in around (number of minutes). Can I confirm your pick up address as (job address)? Would you like me to call you on arrival or wait outside? Thank you. I’ll see you soon.”

Your quality service will lead to more happy passengers who are more likely to use the ingogo service again and again. Remember, more ingogo jobs will lead to more income for you. Likewise, if you provide a poor quality service that results in an unhappy passenger, they will be less likely to use ingogo again, leading to fewer jobs and less income for you.

Important Note

To ensure we maintain a high level of quality service across our driver network we have a few driver penalties in place. These penalties apply when you don’t collect a passenger or you cancel a job after accepting it.

Standard job $10 penalty / Airport job $50 penalty

Remember – penalties only apply for drivers who do not look after their customers. Follow the simple steps listed above you won’t attract penalties, just happy passengers.

Using your ingogo Devices

When you become a member of the ingogo Driver Network you receive for free, three simple devices to work with.

1. An Ingenico PIN Pad
    • This is used for taking passenger credit and EFTPOS payments.
    • The device is switched on by pressing the green key in the bottom right hand corner or the black button on the side (this depends on the model).
    • The battery is recharged through a USB cable (supplied) either in your taxi or at home. The charge lasts for up to 12 hours depending on how much you use it during your shift.
    • To switch the device off, press both the black and yellow keys at the same time, on either side of the green key.
    • If the battery needs to be recharged it will notify you with a ‘beep’ and the display will be dim.

2. A Mobile Phone
This is the core of the system and is fitted with a data SIM only.

    • Accepting jobs, processing payments and tracking your commission is done using your ingogo mobile phone.
    • You’re not able to make calls using this phone.
    • Please don’t change the SIM card in the ingogo phone, as it will no longer work for you.
    • The ON/OFF switch is on the top of the phone and the supplied USB charging cable fits into the side or base of the phone (depending on the model).
    • Activate your PIN Pad first, before turning your phone on.
    • The phone should remain in the supplied phone holder during your shift. Using the phone outside of the holder may attract a fine as with any mobile phone.
    • It’s very important that you follow all messages and approvals on the phone screen to ensure transactions are completed correctly.

3. A Thermal Printer

    • The ON/OFF button is at the top of the printer. Please ensure that your PIN Pad is switched on before activating your printer.
    • To advance the paper, press the ‘FEED’ button and ignore any other buttons.
    • Lights:

      • ‘Charge’ is on when connected to power
      • Blue lights indicate amount of charge
      • ‘Error’ indicates that the paper is jammed
      • For anything else, contact the team at ingogo

    • The central round port on the front of the printer is for the recharging cable – charging for two hours will create sufficient energy for 24 hours use. Your printer can only be charged in your car using the cable provided.

Please note: Passengers who book and pay using the ingogo app will receive an automated receipt via email. Only print a receipt for these passengers if requested.

ingogo bookings where the passenger has paid will appear in GREEN. When a passenger makes a booking, their card is pre-authorised before the booking is placed. At the end of your trip, all you have to do is hit ‘Completed’. There’s no need to process the payment as our system will automatically collect payment from the passenger and then settle your fare amount, including any tolls the next day. If you did not take the route shown on your app and you missed a toll, the toll amount will be deducted.

ingogoFLAG

ingogoFLAG is a new way for ingogo’s business passengers to pay for a cab fare with their ingogo app. Now, they can hail a cab off the street or jump in a cab at a rank without a booking, but still pay using their ingogo app!

Video Demonstration

What’s the flag for?

ingogo’s business passengers need a way to be able to identify that you’re an ingogo driver so that they can pay using their corporate account for rank and hail jobs, not just jobs booked through the ingogo app.

How does it work?

1. A business passenger sees your ingogoFLAG and hails you off the street or jumps in at a cab rank
2. When you’ve arrived at the destination, they’ll tell you that they want to pay through the ingogo app
3. Just tap ‘Express Pay’ or ‘ingogoFLAG’, type in the metered fare and hit ‘Take Payment’
4. The passenger will select the ‘Pay in cab’ option in their app
5. Your device will automatically detect the passenger’s app and send the fare information to them
6. The passenger then selects their fare, chooses a payment method and pays as usual through the app

Where’s the best place to put it on your cab?

Place the ingogoFLAG on the flattest part of your cab’s rooftop, just above your driver door ensuring that the whole surface of the magnet is attached to the roof. < insert photo>

Where shouldn’t I put it?

1. Don’t place it on the passenger side of your cab to make sure that others can’t easily remove or take the flag
2. Don’t place the flag on the bonnet or boot of your cab as this will restrict the passenger’s ability to see the flag

Will it stay on?

Your ingogoFLAG has a strong magnet and has been road tested and manufactured to a high quality specifically for this purpose.

Could the magnet damage my electronic devices?

Yes, it could. For this reason, do not place the ingogoFLAG near any electronic device that can be adversely affected by magnetic fields e.g. your driver devices, mobile phones, computers, etc.

Is there anything else i need to know?

• Don’t forget to take the ingogoFLAG off your cab at the end of your shift. If the flag is on the cab for the next driver’s shift and they are not an ingogo driver, the passenger will expect that they can pay using the ingogo app. If this is not possible, they will complain directly to ingogo, reference the offending taxi and potentially stop using ingogo altogether. This means fewer jobs for you.
• ingogoFLAG is only for our business customers who have a corporate account with ingogo or have linked to the Concur Expense Management System in the ingogo app.

What if I lose it?

There is a replacement fee of $20. You can pick up a replacement flag from your ingogo Driver Support Centre. And remember, the longer you go without the ingogoFLAG, the less rank and hail jobs you’ll receive from ingogo’s business passengers.

Short Job Bonus

ingogo’s goal is to deliver exceptional experiences for our passengers and a fair go for all. Unfortunately, we’ve found that some drivers are not accepting short jobs and this means that our passengers are unable to find a taxi via our app. When this happens, passengers are not satisfied and as a result unlikely to come back and use ingogo again. They instead go to a competitor or trial a ride sharing service. If they choose a ride sharing service instead, both ingogo and the taxi industry has lost a passenger and any jobs they would take in the future.
So from now on, ingogo will be rewarding drivers with our Short Job Bonus.

Payment Details
For a breakdown of payments within each payment settlement, simply tap the trip you would like to look in to.

D screenshot - Pending Payments

Each trip will be listed including a detailed breakdown of your payments.

15% ingogo fee
ingogo only takes 15% of the passenger fare, which includes payment for the credit card surcharge and all service fees. The 15% is calculated excluding tolls and Airport fees. This amount will appear on your Job Details screen.

Tolls
We’ll reimburse you in full for tolls taken on the passenger’s blue selected route up to the amount shown. This will appear on your Job Details screen under Tolls.

Missed tolls
It’s important that you follow the blue route, as this is the route the trip is priced on. If you don’t follow the route and there was a toll priced into the selected fare, ingogo will collect this amount from you and this will appear on your Job Details screen as a missed toll.

Driver Fund
In order to allow Concierge passengers to place bookings and provide multiple payment options to their guests, ingogo adds a small levy to each Concierge Booking to ensure that we’re able to compensate our drivers in cases where a passenger cancels the booking outside the allowed time frames or does not show up for the booking at all. The levies collected will allow us to pass on the $10 passenger cancellation fee and the $10 passenger No-Show fee directly to you, given the time and effort you’ve taken to travel to and pick up the passenger.

Passenger cancellation
For passengers who do not cancel a booking within the specified cancellation period, a $10 passenger cancellation may be incurred which will be passed directly on to you as compensation for your time and loss of potential income. This will appear on your payment summary screen as a + positive amount.

Driver cancellation
If you do not cancel a booking within a specified cancellation period, you may be charged a driver cancellation fee of $10 for a standard jobs or $50 for an Airport jobs which will appear on your payment summary screen as a – negative amount. For the passenger, a cancellation like this results in a lack of confidence in ingogo, fewer bookings and ultimately fewer jobs for you.

Commissions

How much commission can I earn?

At ingogo, we pay the highest commissions to our drivers.

When you first join the ingogo Driver Network you’ll benefit from a Start-up Bonus – in the first two months you’ll receive a guaranteed 2.25% commission on EFTPOS transactions.

The table below shows you how much you can earn after your first two months.

Takings through the ingogo payment terminal Commission (Incl. GST)
$0 – $1 999 1%
$2 000 – $3 499 1.5%
$3 500 – $4 499 1.75%
$4 500+ 2.25%

For example:

    • Take at least $2,000 of ingogo income in month one (after your two month guaranteed bonus finishes), and you’ll earn 1.5% commission on the following month’s takings. That means that in month two, if you have $2,000 of ingogo takings, your commission will be $30. Earn $3,500 in month two and your commission will be $52.50. If you achieve $6,000 in month two, your commission will be $90.
    • Takings of over $4,500 in month two would attract a bonus of 2.25% for month three. So, ingogo takings of $6,000 would earn you a commission of $135. Continue the great work and earn 2.25% for month four with $6,000, that’s another $135.

What does that mean in $$$$$?

Earnings per month 1% commission 1.5% commission 1.75% commission 2.25% commission
$1 000 $10 $15 $18 $23
$2 000 $20 $30 $35 $45
$3 000 $30 $45 $53 $68
$4 000 $40 $60 $70 $90
$5 000 $50 $75 $88 $113
$6 000 $60 $90 $105 $135
$8 000 $80 $120 $140 $180
$10 000 $100 $150 $175 $225
Guaranteed commission in first two months

Earn more when you refer

ingogoREFER

Every day, you chat with the many passengers who jump into your taxi. How would you like to earn more $$$, just by doing what you already do AND get more jobs?

At ingogo, we believe in a fair go for all. So for every new passenger you talk to and get to take a trip with ingogo, we’ll give you $20!

How it works

ingogoREFER lets you give your passengers $20 worth of taxi credit on us! (that’s $10 off their first 2 trips). And, when a new passenger uses ingogo we’ll give you $20 ($10 for each of their first 2 trips) paid on your next payment settlement.

What do I have to do?
    1. If your passenger didn’t book with ingogo, tell them about ingogo and the $20 credit offer.

Here are some benefits of ingogo that you can mention to them:

      – Get $20 worth of ingogo credit
      – Know the Fixed Fare before they book
      – Book a taxi with ingogo and earn Qantas points with every trip
      – Track their taxi on a map
      – Contact the driver to ensure an easy pick-up
      – Book a taxi for now or up to 48 hours in advance

    2. Write your promo code onto your ingogoREFER card or give your passenger their printed receipt.

ingogoREFER promo card back code 350

    3. Give your passenger your card or printed receipt and remind them to download the app and enter your promo code.
