Contacting the passenger

You can contact a passenger for any active job, or after confirming you’re coming if you’ve got multiple jobs on the go at the same time.

It’s a good idea to contact the passenger when:

  • You’re avoiding unexpected traffic or roadworks
  • You have waited more than 2 minutes at the pickup location
  • You’re approaching the pickup location and it’s busy/congested
  • You’re unable to find the passenger

The passenger can see your location and ETA at all times, so there’s no need to let them know you’re coming.

If you’re navigating, tap BACK to show the job overview to reveal the contact options.  To contact a passenger for your next job while you already have a job in progress.

Note: your phone must be securely mounted in a cradle.  You cannot use a handheld device while driving unless you are parked out of the line of traffic.  For more information see Centre for Road Rules, Mobile Phones.

Chat

Sending a chat message is often the best way to communicate with the passenger.  Tap CHAT and select a frequently used message, or type your own.

By phone

At the moment, ingogo supplied phones aren’t able to make outbound calls - so tapping CALL will display the passenger’s name and number so you can get in touch using your own phone.
