How do I reconnect my payment terminal?

How do I reconnect my payment terminal?

Follow the steps below in order to reconnect your Verifone vx690 payment terminal to your phone.

Step One - Check the WiFi network

Your Verifone vx690 payment terminal communicates with your phone over WiFi.  If your payment terminal hasn't successfully joined the WiFi network (Hotspot) on your phone, nothing else will work.

Is the WiFi icon GREY?

Verifone-hotspot_working.png

If the WiFi icon on the payment terminal is GREY, the payment terminal has successfully connected to the WiFi Hotspot on your phone.

What should happen next...

  • Open the ingogo Driver app.  It will connect to the payment terminal over WiFi after 10-15 seconds. The bottom of the payment terminal will change from Disconnected to Connected.

If that didn't work...

Is the WiFi icon RED?

If the WiFi icon on the payment terminal is RED, you need to enable personal hotspot on your phone.

How to enable Personal Hotspot

Watch the video here, or follow the steps below:

  1. To turn on hotspot swipe down from the top right of your screen on an iPhone X, or if your phone has a home button (iPhone 8, 7, 6 etc) swipe from bottom to top to open the control centre.
  2. Next, tap and hold inside the top left square to open the network options, where you will find Personal Hotspot.
  3. Tap on the hotspot icon (bottom right).  It will turn green and show "discoverable".
  4. Be patient.  Wait 30-40 seconds and your phone will show "1 Connection", and the WiFi icon on the payment terminal will turn GREY.

What should happen next...

  • Open the ingogo Driver app.  It will connect to the payment terminal over WiFi after 10-15 seconds. The bottom of the payment terminal will change from Disconnected to Connected.

If that didn't work...

There's no WiFi icon?

If you're seeing an icon like this, it indicates there's an issue with your payment terminal.  Please contact our support staff on 1300 008 294 and we'll arrange a replacement as soon as possible.

Step Two - Check pairing between the app and the vx690

Once the WiFi network is working successfully (the icon is GREY), check that the ingogo Driver app can connect to the Verifone vx690 payment terminal over that WiFi connection.
