Preparing your phone for Hotspot

Select your phone below

iOS Step 1: Changing the hotspot name

Before you can turn hotspot on you need to check your phones name, which will be used as your hotspot network name.

You can find the name in Setting > General > About on the phone.

To change the name, tap on the existing name and the keyboard will appear.

The VeriFone vx690 terminal will only accept a name with letters, numbers or spaces, so make sure you remove any characters (! @ , . / ').

See Below: In the video example, you can see the name Luke's XS was changed to Lukes XS, removing the apostrophe from the name.

Step 2: Changing the hotspot password

The next step is to change the hotspot password to something easy to enter on the terminal.

In the settings tap 'Personal Hotspot' and then 'Wifi Password' to enter a new password for your hotspot.

Tap the 'X' and enter a new password made up of 8-10 numbers. Make the password something easy to remember and do not use the same number twice in a row, as it might be hard to enter this on the terminal (see What if my vx690 terminal won't connect to Wifi?). Tap 'done' when you are finished.
